Helen Mirren Set to Host New Harry Potter Competition Show, But Who Will Watch?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter never falls short on giving the people what they want. Coming soon, a four-part event will be delivered to fans of the J.K. Rowling universe. In Harry Potter: Tournament of Houses, fans will put their knowledge to the test in competition for the honorary title of House Cup champion. The series, hosted by Helen Mirren, will feature hundreds of Harry Potter-themed trivia questions, special guest surprises, and a play-along component for viewers tuning in.
For die-hard fans of the universe, this show is the perfect place to express your passion for all things dedicated to the Wizarding World. The competition series commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Warner Bros. film franchise’s launch with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
“I knew someday I’d get a Harry Potter role, and I’m so pleased to take part in the 20-year film celebration,” said Mirren. “The films inspired such enchantment and wonder for so many of us, and it will be such a treat to reignite that magic for the countless fans who continue to revel in this spellbinding world.”
What I Would Expect From The Harry Potter Competition Show
I for one am a fan of the franchise. With that being said, I am quite curious about the logistics of the show. Anything in the world of Harry Potter is done to a grand scale. The four-part event also claims to showcase “ultimate fan glory” on a never before seen scale. In this case, I am expecting the test for the honor to be named House Cup champion to reflect the competitive games showcased in the films.
I would imagine the contestants will represent each of the houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The series’ activities would be particularly interesting if they were somehow formatted after the game of Quidditch.
Overall, I am expecting lavish costumes, stunning architectural sets, and a person or two to sport Potter’s famous round glasses. It would also be pretty cool to have a break for some Butterbeer in between rounds. The true fans know what I’m talking about with that one.
