Acrobatic performer Red Panda, who has appeared on both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent over the years, suffered a scary fall during a recent halftime performance at the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship game.

Red Panda Falls Off Unicycle During WNBA Halftime Performance

On Tuesday, Red Panda (whose real name is Rong Niu) was set to perform during halftime at the championship game between the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx. In a video from her performance, she can be seen riding an eight-foot unicycle on the court.

Seconds after letting go of the ladder, she fell off the unicycle and onto the court. According to ESPN, an update on her condition had not been given, but she was apparently taken to the hospital. She was reportedly seen clutching her wrist as she was taken off the court in a wheelchair.

Red Panda has been a beloved halftime performer since 1993, and recently performed during Game 5 of the NBA Finals. She competed on AGT Season 8, and more recently on Series 18 of BGT. She also appeared on France’s Got Talent in 2023.

She Received Support on Social Media

When word got out on social media that Red Panda had been injured, fans were quick to share their support. Bleacher Report wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Prayers up to a legend.” Writer Jemele Hill posted, “PROTECT RED PANDA AT ALL COSTS. SHE IS AN AMERICAN TREASURE.”

The Fever ended up beating the Lynx 74-59 during Tuesday’s game. After learning of Red Panda’s fall, Indiana player Caitlin Clark jumped on her teammate Sydney Colson’s post-game Instragram live video to share her support for the performer.

“Red Panda, if you’re watching, we love you,” Clark said in a clip posted on social media.
