JoJo Siwa and her boyfriend, Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes, recently opened up about the possibility that they will get engaged over the Christmas holiday. Hughes hinted that he would rather propose at a less “expected” time.
JoJo Siwa, Chris Hughes Talk Potential Christmas Engagement
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes recently sat down for a joint interview with The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine. In a clip from the chat which was posted on Instagram, the pair can be seen discussing the possibility that they’ll get engaged this Christmas.
“You always get people who get engaged on Christmas,” Hughes said. “Every year, you’re gonna see somebody who gets engaged. I kind of like the idea of it not being a time where it could be expected.”
Siwa remarked that Hughes would “keep me guessing,” before suggesting that she might want to present him with a ring. Hughes didn’t seem to like that idea, saying, “If I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable.”
In response to that, Siwa promised that she “wouldn’t do it unless you waited, like, seven years.” She went on to joke, “Just so you know, on May 27 of 2032, I will be down on one knee. I will not wait one extra day.”

The Couple Is Spending Their First Christmas Together
This will be Siwa and Hughes’ first Christmas together as a couple. The pair met earlier this year while they were both competing on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. At the time, Siwa was dating Australian TV presenter Kath Ebbs.
Not long after the show, Siwa and Ebbs called it quits, and she eventually confirmed her relationship with Hughes. This will be the pair’s first Christmas together as a couple. They will reportedly spend the holiday with Hughes’ family in the Cotswolds in England.
The couple will also spend the week leading up to Christmas with Siwa’s family in Los Angeles. As Siwa told Fabulous Magazine, “It’s my first Christmas away from my family – and in England, too!”
