Zachary Fowler vs. Kevin King
The first matchup of the night was between a slingshot marksman and a monster truck driver. First up was Kevin, who drove his monster truck in the air over a fire truck, police car, and ambulance. Jennifer Nettles said she “loved the whole thing.”
Next, Fowler used his slingshot to hit playing cards from a distance. He then tried to hit another target but missed it three times. However, he did knock a piece of gum out of place, which impressed Snoop Dogg. The judges gave Fowler a score of 80, and Kevin a score of 88, meaning Kevin moved on to the semifinals.
Travis Horn vs. Dejion Taylor
The next matchup of the night was between a balance guru and scooter rider. First, Dejion showed off some amazing flips and tricks while riding his scooter up and down ramps. Rosario Dawson said it was “spectacular” and “really cool.”
Then Travis performed an impressive balance routine in which he stood on several balls which got higher and higher. Snoop Dogg called it a “great performance.” The judges gave Travis a score of 86, and Dejion a score of 91, meaning Dejion moved on.
Callie Bundy vs. Wayne Hoffman
The final matchup of the night was between a football trick shot performer and a mentalist. First, Callie attempted to hit several targets with a football but missed. She finished by landing a football in a basketball hoop from far away. Even though it wasn’t perfect, Rosario praised her “showwomanship.”
Then Wayne performed a trick involving a glass full of hydrochloric acid. Wayne drank five glasses of water (seemingly at random) and managed not to drink the acid. The judges gave Callie a score of 52, and Wayne a score of 49, meaning Callie moved on. Regarding Wayne, Snoop said he didn’t “get it,” and Jennifer said she “wanted more.”
The contestants who moved on in tonight’s episode will return for the semifinals, which will air next week. Go-Big Show will be back at the same time for even more intense performances.
