Gina Miles Reacts to Winning The Voice Season 23
In an interview with Gold Derby, Miles explained why she looked so stunned when host Carson Daly announced her as the winner of Season 23, saying, “It’s really loud in there when they’re clapping, so when he said my name I was just like, ‘Me? Are you for real?'”
She went on to say that it was a “very surreal experience,” adding, “You watch the show, and you’re like, ‘This is TV.’ And then you’re on the show, and you’re like, ‘This is my life.’ So it was really weird.”
When asked if she and the other singers were worried about the voters possibly favoring Team Blake because it was the coach’s final season, Miles said she was more focused on the music. She explained, “For us, it’s really just been about doing our best and performing things that we want to perform.”

Why Didn’t Miles Cover Adele on the Show?
Although Miles listed Adele as one of her favorite artists, she never performed Adele’s music during her time on The Voice. When asked if she ever considered it, Miles explained why she thought it was a better idea to avoid those songs.
“I love Adele with my whole soul. She’s my favorite ever,” Miles shared. “I do think it’s hard to sing Adele songs, especially since I’m such a gigantic fan, to not sing them like she sings them and turn them into your own kind of thing. So I did consider it, but I did eventually just think that it was a bad plan.”
She went on to say that Adele’s voice is “much bigger than mine,” so she felt like she wouldn’t have “done it enough justice” if she sang one of her songs on the show.
