Blake Shelton Explains Why He and Gwen Stefani Did Not Have a Honeymoon

It’s been a month since the two got married in their small Oklahoma wedding. Although it doesn’t seem like the newly weds took time off, Shelton says they actually did.

When asked on XM Radio’s “The Highway” whether they had a honeymoon or not, Shelton replied quickly saying no. He then shared that the two have future plans for a honeymoon.
“We still are probably going to, we did have some time after the wedding just she and I. We just wanted something calm for a minute and not to run off and then go to do something else,” he said. “So we just stayed out there in Oklahoma and just had some quiet time.”
He was sure to express that the two had spent plenty of alone time before getting back into the public eye as a married couple. As people who both have very busy lives, they decided staying in Oklahoma with quiet time was the perfect way to celebrate their new marriage.
Nature’s Beauty Kept the Two Home
Shelton then went on to explain how Stefani loves living in Oklahoma. He mentions that her favorite part about the state is the outdoors. So really, they didn’t want to leave anyway. Stefani specifically love the flowers that are grown there.
“Her passion outside of music is flowers and so this last spring when we had time we planted a few acres of zinnias and it’s like oh this isn’t going to work but we’ll try it and man we’ve had all of this rain this year and wildflowers,” said Shelton. “She’s in absolute heaven with that, so she wouldn’t have wanted to leave anyway because she can just literally walk out there and stand in acres of those things.”
Shelton implied that the two will make future honeymoon plans when they’re ready to get away, but as of right now they are both enjoying Oklahoma and one another.
