The year 2021 is already looking a lot brighter after everything that has happened in 2020. It was announced that music superstar The Weeknd will be performing at the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show.His fans and he alike are extremely excited for the big performance.

The Weeknd Is Performing At the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show
“We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position” The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye said. “I’m humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.” The performance will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021.
In the past, other artists to take the Super Bowl Half Time stage include Madonna, Beyonce, Coldplay, Prince, Katy Perry, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lady Gaga, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson and most recently Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.
Jay-Z, the leader of the entertainment group Roc Nation will be teaming up with the NFL for this event. “The Weeknd has ushered in a sound all his own” Jay-Z said. “His soulful uniqueness has defined a new generation of greatness in music and artistry. This is an extraordinary moment in time and the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show is going to be an extraordinary experience with an extraordinary performer.”
The Weeknd had major success with his 2020 album “After Hours” which is the most-streamed R&B album of all time. The single “Blinding Lights” broke the record for Billboard’s longest-running No. 1 on its U.S. radio chart. His 2016 album “Starboy” also earned the top spot on the Billboard 200.

The Canadian singer has fans all over the world that are eager to see him take the Super Bowl Halftime stage. “Coming as an OG XO fan since 2011 I can honestly say I’m SO F*CKING PROUD of @theweeknd and everything he’s accomplished!!! like wow. YOU’RE GOING TO KILL IT AT THE SUPER BOWL HALF TIME SHOW!!!” wrote one fan on Twitter.

The Super Bowl is expected to have a limited capacity in 2021 so there very well could be some lucky fans who get to see The Weeknd’s highly anticipated performance in person. The rest of us will be watching from home probably in awe at his talent.
