Jennifer Nettles’ Early Life, Career
Nettles was born in Douglas, Georgia, in 1974. Her mother was a music teacher, and her father was a church organist. Nettles grew up surrounded by music and began singing in church at a young age. After completing her education, she moved to Atlanta, where she began performing in local clubs and coffeehouses.
Nettles gained attention as the lead vocalist for the group Soul Miner’s Daughter in the late 1990s. The group gained a following in the Atlanta area. However, it was her partnership with Kristian Bush that led to her breakthrough in the industry.
