‘DWTS’ Alum Milo Manheim Cast in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Tangled’ Movie

Actor Milo Manheim, who finished in second place on Season 27 of Dancing with the Stars, has been cast as Flynn Rider in Disney’s live-action remake of Tangled. Manheim will star alongside Australian actress Teagan Croft as Rapunzel.

Milo Manheim Cast in Live-Action Tangled Movie

On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim had been cast as the leads in Disney’s upcoming live-action Tangled movie. The original animated film, which was a spin on the story of Rapunzel, was released in 2010 and featured Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi in voice roles.

Milo Manheim, who is the son of actress Camryn Manheim, is best known for his role as Zed in the Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise. In 2018, he competed on Season 27 of Dancing with the Stars, finishing in second place with his partner Witney Carson.

Manheim posted the Tangled casting news on his Instagram account, writing on his stories that he was “too grateful to put into words” and adding of his character Flynn Rider, “I will do him justice I promise.”

The actor’s DWTS partner Witney Carson commented on Manheim’s post about the casting, writing, “WHAT!!!!! This is so wild and so cool. Congrats Milo!!!!”

What Else to Expect from the Movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney’s live-action Tangled movie will be directed by Michael Gracey — who is known for the musical films Better Man and The Greatest Showman. The script will be written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the writer behind Do Revenge and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Finalists for the lead roles reportedly screen tested in December of last year. The role of the movie’s villain, Mother Gothel, has not yet been cast, although Scarlett Johansson was reportedly attached at one point.
