‘DWTS’ Frontrunner Wayne Brady to Host 2022 American Music Awards

Dancing With The Stars standout Wayne Brady is set to host this year’s American Music Awards. With this huge opportunity, the comedian feels excited and privileged.


Wayne Brady Will Host 2022 American Music Awards

Dick Clark Productions and ABC announced the news on October 24. In a press statement, Wayne Brady said that he’s “‘ecstatic and honored” in finding out his role in the award show.

“As a musician and music lover, it’s amazing to be part of a night where music fans make their voices heard!” Brady said. “It’s a big show, so I’m bringing it all… The funny, the music and the moves!”

According to AMAs executive producer Jesse Collins, the production team is thrilled to have Brady host the event. In addition, Collins assured viewers that Brady will be an amazing host for the show.


“Wayne Brady is undoubtedly one of the most talented people on earth,” Collins said. “Viewers should expect an incredible night of music, comedy and fun!” the producer said.

Apart from witnessing the world’s favorite artists receive their trophies, Brady’s hosting is absolutely one element look forward to. The DWTS star will lead the night after many remarkable celebrities, including Cardi B and Jimmy Kimmel.

Bad Bunny, Beyoncé Among Leading Nominees

The lead nominee for the highly anticipated ceremony is Bad Bunny, who secured eight nominations. He is nominated for Artist of the Year, Touring Artist, Music Video, Male Pop Artist, Pop Album, Male Latin Artist, Latin Album, and Latin Song. In last year’s ceremony, Bad Bunny won the awards for Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Latin Album.


Other nominees include Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Drake, who equally got six nominations. Consequently, Beyoncé and Swift are the top female nominees this year.

On the other hand, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood sealed two nominations, while American Idol judge Luke Bryan got one nod. Fan Voting for the American Music Awards has begun except for favorite K-pop artist which will kick off on November 1.

The 2022 AMAs will air live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on November 20s at 8pm EST/PST on ABC.
