Carrie Underwood set to Win Big at this Year’s American Music Awards
Dick Clark Productions and ABC have recently announced the nominees of the world’s biggest fan-voted awards show, the American Music Awards. Among those that will grace the show is country superstar Carrie Underwood, who received two nominations for this year.
Underwood is currently on the path to win Favorite Female Country Artist. Additionally, Denim & Rhinestones can potentially be AMAs’ Favorite Country Album.
For those who may not know, Underwood has been dominating the Favorite Female Country Artist Category, creating a long winning streak from 2014 to 2019. She reclaimed her title in 2021 and is clearly ready to begin a new streak. The “Before He Cheats” singer has also secured places for her country albums in the same awards show. Pleased upon hearing the double nomination, her fans expressed their support by assuring Underwood about their votes.
Since her American Idol win, Underwood has been big in the country music scene. This year, she will be embarking on the Denim & Rhinestones Tour. American Idol alum Jimmie Allen will serve as opening act from beginning to end, within Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.
American Idol Judge Luke Bryan Got Nominated Too
Aside from Underwood, another American Idol cast member will attend the AMAs. Judge Luke Bryan’s track in collaboration with Jordan Davis, “Buy Dirt,” has been nominated for Favorite Country Song. Last year, Bryan took home the Favorite Male Country Artist title.
In the designated voting website, fans can vote up to 22 times per day until November 14. They can also contribute by tweeting.
Aside from votes and tweets, key fan interactions as reflected on the Billboard charts is the main factor for an artist’s win. This includes the number of streams, album and song sales, radio airplay, and tour grosses.
The 2022 American Music Awards will air live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on November 20s at 8pm EST/PST on ABC.
