Dancing with the Stars Season 31 celebrity Gabby Windey got engaged in Tuesday night’s finale of The Bachelorette. She and her final suitor, Erich Schwer, are getting married. Windey shared a series of photos to celebrate on Instagram.
Gabby Windey Gets Engaged to Erich Schwer on The Bachelorette
Windey was one of two Bachelorettes this season, along with Rachel Recchia. Recchia chose Tino Franco as her final suitor, although they’ve since broken up due to a cheating scandal. Windey chose Erich Schwer and it was revealed in the finale that they got engaged.
During their hometown date on the show earlier in the season, Windey told Schwer, “I am falling in love with you.” While proposing to Windey, Schwer told her, “It’s you, me until the wheels fall off. I’m head over heels in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you, Gabby. Will you marry me?”
After the finale aired, Windey took to Instagram to share a set of photos, captioning the post, “Hard launch.” The post includes various photos of the couple together, including kissing on the beach and having dinner together. In the last shot, Windey shows off her engagement ring.
Schwer is a real estate analyst originally from New Jersey who loves to ride motorcycles and spend time outdoors. Although his father Allan appeared during his hometown date and “really liked” Windey, he sadly passed away in July and never got to see the season air.

Schwer Has Been the Center of Some Controversy
Things haven’t been perfect between Windey and Schwer, particularly after a photo recently surfaced depicting Schwer wearing blackface in high school. He apologized on Instagram and wrote that he is “deeply ashamed.”
After that, his ex-girlfriend leaked alleged text messages from Schwer and claimed they were still together when he was cast to be on The Bachelorette. During the finale, Schwer said he met this woman “about a month before it started” and admitted that he “handled it poorly, 100 percent.”
Windey, meanwhile, said that Schwer told her about the texts before they leaked. She added, “Our communication has just gotten better and he’s gracious and he’s honest, so I do believe what he said… His honesty and willingness to take accountability is all I can ask for in a partner.”
Currently, Windey is competing on Dancing with the Stars with pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy. The show streams live Monday nights on Disney+.
