Could former American Idol and World of Dance judge Jennifer Lopez be the next star to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Director Kat Coiro wants to make it happen, and Lopez took notice on social media recently, sharing her response.
Director Kat Coiro Wants Jennifer Lopez in the MCU
In a recent interview with entertainment reporter Tara Hitchcock, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law director Kat Coiro spoke a little bit about Jennifer Lopez. Coiro directed Lopez in the movie Marry Me, which was released earlier this year.
“My dream is to bring J.Lo into the MCU. Put that out there,” Coiro said in response to a question about whether Lopez knows any spoilers from the new She-Hulk series. Hitchcock responded that she would “absolutely put that out there.”
Fans responded to the suggestion on Twitter. Although some objected to the idea of Lopez as a Marvel character, others were excited by the prospect, with one fan writing, “She is already ageless and superhuman! She would be an EPIC SUPERHERO!”

Lopez Responded to the Suggestion on Instagram
As Heavy reports, the @jloversjlo Instagram fan page posted a screenshot of a tweet sharing Coiro’s wish. Lopez herself ended up sharing it to her Instagram stories on Tuesday, writing in response, “haha … love u too @katcoiro.”
Lopez doesn’t seem to be taking the suggestion too seriously, but you never know what might happen. A lot of big stars have appeared in Marvel movies over the years, so it’s not out of the question for someone like J.Lo to get involved.
However, joining the MCU might put her at odds with her husband Ben Affleck, who has played the DC Comics character Batman in several movies. Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in July of this year, nearly 20 years after calling off their first engagement.
Lopez has also said recently that she wants to have a “healthier work-life balance,” writing in her newsletter that, “It must be a very special project if it’s going to take time away from my family.”
