Despite Illness, Suni Lee Set to Perform During ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Queen Night

The stakes are getting higher in season 30 of Dancing With the Stars. Tonight, the series will premiere Queen Night, where the remaining nine couples will dance to music of the iconic rock band. With the heightened stakes, Sasha Farber shared an Instagram post acknowledging the fact that his Dancing with the Stars partner Suni Lee has continued to rehearse while sick, and still plans to perform tonight.
Many DWTS fans were confused to see Sasha dancing on stage with a mannequin on the show’s Instagram story, but news has since broke that Suni hasn’t been feeling well. Yesterday, Sasha shared a post thanking his partner for her commitment to the show, even through her recent illness.
“@sunisalee thank you for everything you do even working so hard through your pain!” Sasha wrote. “I’m so lucky to have a partner like you. You are pushing the boundaries and tomorrow no matter what I promise you we will rock!!!! Thank you for everything and I hope you feel better tomorrow!”
Luckily, this isn’t another DWTS COVID-19 scare. The dancer ended his statement out reminding his gymnast partner that he’s always on speed dial if she needs anything. The two are set to perform a Paso Doble to “We Will Rock You” this evening.
How Has Suni Done on Dancing With the Stars?
Suni and Sasha need support more than ever since being saved during Horror Week. Their last dance was a tango to “Bad Habits” by Ed Sheeran, which earned a 36 out of 40 score. Unfortunately, they didn’t get the votes needed from fans to keep them out of the bottom two and they were later saved by the judges.
This olympic gymnast has gotten progressively better since the first night of the competition. Although her scores began at a 7, she’s only improved. Suni has been extremely solid in the competition thus far so I’d hate to see an illness rock her chances at a mirrorball.
There’s a lot that goes into a good Paso Doble, so I’m a nervous for the couple. I’m really hoping Suni feels better today because I know she’d kill it if she wasn’t feeling ill. If anything the relay dance could help this team if they do end up scoring poorly on their Paso Doble. We saw them earn 35 out of 40 points on a Viennese Waltz during Villain’s Night.
Voting for Dancing with the Stars will be open during the show and one more couple will be eliminated after the final commercial break, vote for Suni Lee if you want to see her move on in the competition.
