American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta has released a fun new music video for his song “Faith in Me.” The clip features plenty of dancing, as well as a few winky references to iconic ’80s movies.
David Archuleta Releases “Faith in Me” Music Video
The video starts with Archuleta getting a text from someone he likes. He responds by dancing around his house. He even slides on the floor in his socks at one point like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Eventually, he tries on a few outfits and leaves the house.
Archuleta proceeds to dance in the street and in the bleachers at a local football field. Fans of The Breakfast Club will recognize a few of his moves, as well as his fists-up pose in front of the scoreboard. Later moments seem to be an homage to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, as Archuleta jumps a fence and runs through someone’s backyard.
The ’80s tributes definitely fit the song’s style, and the choreography from Jessie Lee Thorne is a lot of fun. If you weren’t already dancing along to the song when it was released last month, the music video will definitely do the trick.
The clip ends with Archuleta back on his bed, and it’s revealed that everything has actually been in his imagination. He responds to his crush’s text with a simple, “Hi.”
In addition to the new music video, fans got some other exciting news from Archuleta earlier this month, as he announced dates for an upcoming Christmas tour. It’s called The More the Merrier, kicking off November 18 in Ivins, Utah.
You can buy tickets to the Christmas tour now through Archuleta’s website.
