BIO: Jimmie Allen auditioned for American Idol in 2011 after living in his car for a few years in Nashville, Tennessee. The now popular country singer made it all the way to the Las Vegas round before getting eliminated. During his time on the series, he became friends with that season’s winner, Scotty McCreery. The two reconnected after the series and toured together after Allen’s debut album release.
In 2017, Allen signed to Stoney Creek records and began releasing music with them. After releasing his first hit single “Best Shot” he went on to collaborate with some big names in Hollywood. In 2021, Allen became the first black performer to win New Male Artist of the Year at the 2021 ACM Music Awards and subsequently joined the season 30 cast of Dancing With the Stars.
Allen met his wife, Alexis Gale, in spring 2019. They wed nearly a year later in June 2020. The couple share two children, and Allen has a third child from a previous relationship.
