Variety reported on Cabello’s change in label, pointing out that the singer has been with Epic since 2013, through the label’s partnership with Simon Cowell’s Syco Records. At the time, she was part of the group Fifth Harmony, which placed third on The X Factor USA in 2012.
Even after leaving the group in 2017, she stayed with Epic as she released her solo music, starting with Camila in 2018, followed by Romance in 2019. By joining Interscope (which is owned by Universal Music Group), Cabello is in good company. Other artists on the label include Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish.
Earlier this year, Fifth Harmony celebrated their 10th anniversary, looking back at the time they were formed as a group on The X Factor. Cabello posted a throwback photo on Instagram, writing that she wished “much love and happiness” to her group mates.

She Is the Newest Coach on The Voice
Cabello recently made her debut as the newest coach on The Voice Season 22. She was previously a Battle Advisor on John Legend’s team last season, and now she’s competing against him in the hope of snagging a winning artist.
Blind Auditions kicked off earlier this week, with Cabello convincing five artists to join her team so far. That’s more than any of the other four coaches, including longtime coach Blake Shelton. Cabello and Shelton seem to have established a bit of a rivalry.
Earlier this year, Cabello released the single “Bam Bam,” featuring another former The Voice Battle Advisor, Ed Sheeran. Her latest release, Familia, dropped this past April.
