The Voice‘s newest coach Camila Cabello surely knows a thing or two about love. In her recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the pop superstar casually shared a dating advice.
Camila Cabello Talks About Dating, Channeling Sexiness
We’ve definitely witnessed Camila Cabello grace every stage with her confidently feminine and sultry aura. Nevertheless, like any other woman, the songstress gets nervous when performing in front of the person she likes. Discovering this aspect of herself, Cabello decided to shy away from what she calls as “one-dimensional sexy.”
“I realize that that was me being like just trying to be one dimensional sexy, it’s like no,” she said. “I might feel sexy on stage but also sometimes I feel like a scared little girl.”
Over time, Cabello learned that there are a lot of nuances to being sexy. The “Havana” singer believes that sexiness can also be depicted through vulnerability and openness. According to Cabello, the best way to channel the same is by listening to one’s body. Apparently, she applies the same rule when dating.
“Screw society’s rules,” she said. “You don’t have to date if you don’t want to but you also can date if you [want to].”
For Cabello, dating can also be about founding friendships. Additionally, she banks on the idea that physical attraction happens naturally and should not be too forced.
She Quit Using a Dating App After Receiving a DM
During the interview, the songstress also revealed that she once installed a dating app and tried to find love on it. After having that experience, Cabello wasn’t convinced about its wonders.
“I was on a dating app for 24 hours then I left,” she said.
The singer explained that the first guy who sent her a direct message was an aspiring singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Upon receiving a message from the person, she went skeptic and proceeded to leave the application.
“I feel weird because somebody could be using me. Does that make sense?” she said. “You don’t know their intentions.”
Ironically, the singer has allegedly been dating Austin Kevitch, co-founder and CEO of the Lox Club dating app. Last August, the two were seen holding hands while strolling in a spot in Los Angeles, California.
Be that as it may, The Voice coach is clear in implying that friendship is a great foundation for romance. She later confessed that she adores the relationship of her fellow coaches, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, who told her that the key to a happy companionship is becoming each other’s best friend.
