Pop star Britney Spears took to Instagram this week to share a photo showing the aftermath of a fire at her home gym in 2020. The singer previously told fans that the fire was accidentally caused by candles.

“Reflecting back remembering when I burnt the gym down in 2020,” Spears wrote to accompany a photo of the aftermath. The floor of the gym, as well as the exercise equipment such as kettlebells, is shown to be covered in ash.
According to Page Six, Spears told fans around the time of the incident that she walked past the gym door and saw flames. She added, “By the Grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt. Unfortunately, now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!!”
Spears looked on the bright side, saying she preferred exercising outside anyway. In June 2020, Spears shared a video from the gym. The singer explained what led to the fire, saying, “I had two candles and … yeah, one thing led to another and I burned it down.”

Spears Recently Showed Support for Her Sister
The photo showing her burnt gym isn’t the only notable post Spears has made on Instagram this month. She recently showed support for her younger sister Jamie Lynn, who competed on Dancing with the Stars earlier this year.
Spears reportedly posted a photo of her sister with dance partner Alan Bersten and captioned the post, “I’m so proud of my sister! She did so good on Dancing with the Stars!”
Unfortunately, the support was short-lived, as Spears ended up deleting it. The two sisters have had a complicated relationship over the years. However, a source recently told Page Six, “They are speaking.”
