Blake Shelton Promotes Smithworks Hard Seltzer by Spraying It at Fans
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Blake Shelton took a break from filming The Voice Blind Auditions this week to pay a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He and the host played a game with two fans to promote his new hard seltzer drink. The product, from Smithworks Vodka, comes in a variety of flavors. The two fans who participated got to taste them in the most dramatic way possible, as Shelton sprayed them with it.
Blake Shelton Sprays Fans with Hard Seltzer
Fans Joy and Alice participated in the game, which involved filling in the blanks to various clues. If their opponent got the correct answer, they were hit in the face with a pie. Then either Shelton or DeGeneres would spray them with hard seltzer from a bottle.
“What do you think about that ripe strawberry?” Shelton asked Joy at one point, referring to one of the flavors. She replied that it was “pretty good.” It’s probably even better from a glass, but we’re just guessing.
By the end of the game, both fans were covered in whipped cream and hard seltzer, but only one of them could walk away with $1,000. However, the loser got a television, so it wasn’t all for nothing. Shelton described it was “the weirdest thing I’ve ever been a part of.”

Shelton Also Performed ‘Minimum Wage’ on the Show
In addition to playing DeGeneres’ game, Shelton also performed his song “Minimum Wage” on the show. The country star has faced backlash for the song, since he is a multimillionaire and definitely not making minimum wage. Shelton has responded by saying he earned minimum wage before he made it big.
The Voice has been filming Blind Auditions for Season 21, with live audiences finally returning. Audience members had to be vaccinated and wear masks unless instructed otherwise. Ariana Grande is joining the panel as a coach this season.
The auditions apparently aren’t keeping Shelton too busy, since he had time to stop by DeGeneres’ show to play around.
