Blake Shelton is aware of the divorce rumors about him and his wife Gwen Stefani. He addressed the gossip during a recent appearance on the radio show Country Countdown USA, pointing out that you can’t always believe what you see online.
“Starting in October, I think, or maybe November, I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” Shelton said in the recent interview. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, you know, a week later a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store: ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’”
Shelton went on to joke that when he and Stefani are “not seen at the grocery store” a week later, the tabloids will once again report that they’re divorcing. He also seemed to address AI-generated or doctored images of himself and Stefani that he’s seen online.
“I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘that looks so real,’” Shelton said. “But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’ I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean, nothing. I just don’t believe it.”
Although Shelton didn’t outright confirm or deny whether there is any truth to the rumors about him and Stefani, it sounds like things have definitely been exaggerated.
Recently, rumors swirled that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s relationship could be in trouble after they chose not to attend the CMA Awards in November, despite Shelton being nominated. They also hadn’t been posting each other much on their Instagram accounts.
Around Thanksgiving, the couple seemed to shoot down the gossip by sharing a lovey-dovey photo on Instagram. The image showed Stefani smiling in a selfie as Shelton kissed her on the cheek. There was no caption for the picture, but it definitely sent a message.
Stefani and Shelton met in 2014 on The Voice, and they started dating the following year. They tied the knot in 2021. They’ll be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary in July of this year.
