This year, Blake Shelton is celebrating the fast-approaching holidays with new music. The country superstar recently surprised fans, saying that he’ll be issuing a Super Deluxe version of his 2012 Christmas album.
Blake Shelton To Release Extended Version of Past Holiday Album
Fans may have guessed that the country singer is up to something when he teased a photo of a Christmas-decorated recording studio. Finally, on November 4, Shelton announced that he’ll release a Super Deluxe version of his 2012 Christmas album, Cheers, It’s Christmas.
“We’re in the super deluxe spirit this year, y’all!!! Cheers, it’s Christmas (Super Deluxe) – featuring 3 new songs,” he captioned the post.
Basically, the singer has rehashed the 20 holiday tracks from the album’s original release. These songs include various collaborations with Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé, and Reba McEntire. Additionally, one of the songs from the music collection is Shelton’s song duet with his mom, Dorothy Shackleford, entitled “Time for Me to Come Home.”
Shelton will also feature three new songs in the album, all of which were previously released by his wife, Gwen Stefani. “Up On the Housetop,” “Holly Jolly Christmas,” and “Cheer for the Elves” came from Stefani’s 2017 album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas.
The Voice Cast Hyped the Announcement
Upon Shelton’s surprise announcement, some The Voice cast expressed their support. One of them was upcoming season 23 coach Niall Horan who sweetly responded to his post.
“Love ya dad,” he wrote.
Apparently, the two are calling each other “dad” and “son” backstage and thus, the comment. The show’s official Instagram account also intimated its excitement on the new Christmas album.
“EEEEEP,” the comment reads.
Meanwhile, show host Carson Daly tried to roast the singer, saying that the photo used in Shelton’s promotion is already “30 yrs old.” Cheers, it’s Christmas (Super Deluxe) will be available on November 11. For the meantime, fans can pre-add this album on Apple Music and pre-save it on Spotify.
