‘BGT’s Reuben Gray Has New Style, Confidence, and Music in 2021
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Reuben Gray stole the hearts of Britain when he took to the Britain’s Got Talent stage with his original song “Lifeline.” Although David Walliams considered Gray to be the dark horse in the competition, he didn’t make it past the semi-finals in series 11. People loved this 16 year-old act because of his heartfelt music. BGT was truly only the beginning for this young singer.
After BGT, Reuben went straight to the studio. Since his time on the show, he’s released nine singles on all streaming platforms. He is now 20 years-old and has a huge following on social media. Reuben currently has 72,600 followers on Instagram, 82,800 on TikTok, and 90,900 subscribers on YouTube. His name has seriously blown up because of BGT!
On top of his time in the studio, he’s also been performing around the United Kingdom. He advertises for these shows on his Instagram page and it seems like a lot of his recent performances have been at sold out venues. Some of his recent releases have gotten him on multiple Apple Music playlists. Including: Alt Pop, New Alternative, and New Alternative Pop. He was also featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and even more.
‘Lifeline’ TikTok Video Goes Viral
This 20 year-old is extremely active on social media. But, out of all of his accounts he seems to be most active on TikTok. One of his videos that went viral was about the creation of his Britain’s Got Talent audition song. This video has currently ranked in 13,600 views. It’s nowhere near his most viral TikTok, you can’t really compare it to his top the video about the song that has 563,200 views.
This artist is working to stay in the public eye, and has been pretty successful about it in the past few years. He still writes all of his music and has a similar voice to his audition. Although his newer music leans more toward electronic pop he still has the same beautiful voice. He now produces music that he doesn’t think is “cheesy” so it’s pretty much confirmed that he’s no longer with the girl he wrote “Lifeline” about.
Since changing the genre of his music, he’s gone into a bit of an evolution period. He went from being an innocent looking 16 year-old to rocking a more mature pop punk look. He has hair down to his shoulders and is often seen wearing a denim jacket, or a muscle shirt. His sense of style is very similar to Shawn Mendes, in some photos he even looks like Mendes. I really think Gray seems extremely confident in his new look.
