As Britains Got Talent takes a year off, judge, David Walliams will join The Masked Dancer panel instead for the show’s first season in the UK as a guest judge.
David Walliams Reveals New Judging Role on ‘The Masked Dancer’
BGT‘s David Walliams has revealed that he will appear on the first season of The Masked Dancer in the UK.
Speaking on daytime talk show, Lorraine, Walliams said: “I did do The Masked Dancer as a guest judge, so I’m not giving anything away because I can’t dance or sing. Not much I can do!”
The TV personality has been voted the nation’s favorite TV judge at the National Television Awards for the fourth year in a row for his role on BGT. Now, Walliams will hope to bring his judging talent to ITV’s new dancing show while guest judging.
“It was really, really fun actually. It’s a really lovely show,” he added. “I think it’s on over half term when Britain’s Got Talent would normally be.”
Walliams continued, speaking on the daytime show, making jokes about Simon Cowell’s height and botox surgeries.
Lorraine later added that Britain’s Got Talent will return next year as expected.
New Dancing Show on ITV this May
There is not long to wait before The Masked Dancer finally airs it’s UK version. After months of anticipation, ITV has already revealed it’s first look at all the costumes that will be featured. Making up this year’s judge panel will be Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and new judge, Oti Mabuse.
The Masked Singer UK Instagram gave a sneak peak to fans this week of what can be expected.
“GET READY for The Masked Dancer We’ll be back on @ITV and @wearestv1 this month for the first series of #MaskedDancerUK for ONE WEEK ONLY,” the post’s caption reads.
