‘BGT: The Ultimate Magician’ Gets a Premiere Date, Contestants Revealed

Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician officially has a premiere date, and the contestants have been revealed for the upcoming special. Fans will see some familiar faces returning to the Got Talent stage.
BGT: The Ultimate Magician Premieres December 18
BGT: The Ultimate Magician will premiere on Sunday, December 18, at 8 p.m. on ITV. It will feature returning BGT judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden, as well as special guest judge Penn Jillette.
The special was pre-recorded in October. Originally, regular BGT hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (also known as Ant and Dec) were supposed to host. However, they had to pull out after testing positive for Covid-19. Instead, the show will be hosted by Stephen Mulhern.
The Ultimate Magician is a two-hour special featuring ten of the best magicians from past Got Talent seasons competing for a £50,000 prize.
Notably, this will be Walliams’ first new BGT appearance since last month’s controversy surrounding derogatory comments he made about contestants during tapings in 2020. The judge has since apologized, but rumors are swirling that he’ll leave the show.

Which Magicians Are Competing on the Show?
After confirming the premiere date on Monday, the BGT Instagram account also shared which magicians will be competing on the show. You’ll probably recognize a few of the names from past seasons of Got Talent.
Contestants include Magical Bones from Series 14; Series 10 winner Richard Jones; The Witch from Series 15; Marc Spelmann from Series 12; The Clairvoyants from AGT Season 11; Tony from the Series 12 duo Tony and Jordan; Kevin James from AGT Season 2; Eric Chien from AGT Season 14; Mandy Muten from Series 12; and Colin Cloud from Series 6 and AGT Season 12.
We can’t wait to find out which of these amazing magicians takes home the grand prize when BGT: The Ultimate Magician airs December 18 on ITV.
