‘American Idol’s Willie Spence Teams Up with Alyssa Wray for Charity Concert
Season 19 American Idol runner-up Willie Spence is putting on a show for his hometown. Willie will be joined by fellow contestant Alyssa Wray at Jardine Stadium in Douglas, Georgia this week. The duo struck up a great friendship on the show which has clearly translated off the show too.
Willie Spence Will Perform Hometown Concert with ‘American Idol’s Alyssa Wray
Alyssa was shockingly eliminated on Disney Night after delivering her best performance of the entire competition. The Perryville, Kentucky singer and Willie will be joined by Season 19’s Kya Monee. Kya performed with Willie during the duets round in Hollywood Week. Their duet of “Stay” by Rihanna brought Katy Perry to tears. All of the judges were up on their feet. They knew right then and there that Willie would go on to become a star.
Season 18 contestant DeWayne Crocker Jr. who made it to the Top 20 is also going to be performing at the show. DeWayne was brought back during the big American Idol comeback this season. He performed “Voice of God” by Dante Bowe ft. Steffany Gretzinger & Chandler Moore. While he didn’t receive enough votes to earn his way back onto the show, he definitely had one of the best performances of the night.
This show will take place on June 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Willie is giving back to his community with this charity concert. The proceeds will help support Bethel Family Worship Center Outreach Programs and the Coffee County Food Bank. Tickets range from $5-$50 and are on sale for one more day.
The pride of Douglas won over the hearts of the entire world showing off his singing talents on American Idol this season. Some fans even feel like he should have won over crowned winner Chayce Beckham. Willie has remained humble and kind throughout the entire experience and has a huge career ahead of him regardless of coming in second place.
