“Peace of Mind” is a quiet, understated ballad backed by drums and guitar. Maddie shows off the vulnerable side of her voice as she sings about running away from past relationships but feeling differently about this one.
“This won’t end with someone leaving / Sayin’ ‘It ain’t you, it’s me,’ and that’s the reason why,” Maddie sings on the track, “I’m letting down my guard so easy, let you in and let you see me / In ways that I never knew that I could do / ‘Cause when it comes to you / You give me peace of mind.”
Maddie shared on Instagram that she co-wrote the song with Andy Skib and Thomas Finchum. She added, “Hope you love it as much as we do.” The song features cover art showing Maddie (still rocking dark hair) as she lounges on a sofa and smiles.
