Maddie Poppe to Perform with Leah Marlene, Fritz Hager
Last month, Leah announced that she would be performing a concert at the Corn Crib in her hometown of Normal on August 27. She also shared that her friend and fellow Season 20 Idol contestant Fritz Hager would be joining her on stage at the show.
Leah also teased that she would be announcing another special guest. It turns out that special guest is Maddie Poppe, who won Season 16 of the show. Leah shared the news on Instagram, and Maddie commented, “YAAAAS CANT WAIT TO SING W MY FAVES!”
Maddie also posted about it on her own Instagram, along with several other upcoming tour dates. In addition to the Normal show, four other concerts will also feature Fritz — Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles. You can buy tickets on Maddie’s website.
Maddie Performed on the American Idol Reunion
Maddie recently returned to the American Idol stage with her boyfriend and Season 16 runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson. The couple performed “Islands in the Stream” as part of the show’s 20th anniversary reunion episode earlier this year.
The singer shared that she’s “taking a whole new direction” with her music. She showed off a new brunette hairdo and promoted her new song “One That Got Away,” promising judge Katy Perry that she wasn’t “copying your brand completely.”
Maddie was also recently unmasked as a mystery celebrity on The Masked Singer Tour in Omaha, Nebraska. We can’t wait to see her take the stage with Fritz and Leah later this summer.
Fritz reached the Top 5 on American Idol Season 20 and was later voted the winner of Live with Kelly and Ryan‘s Encore contest, getting to perform on the show. Meanwhile, Leah reached the Finals of Season 20 and came in third place.
