Chayce Beckham has just taken one huge step in his life. The Season 19 American Idol winner bought a ProTeam 175 TXW Tournament Edition bass boat over the weekend. The longtime fisherman announced the exciting news on Instagram to his 252,000 followers.

Chayce Beckham Buys His Dream Boat After Winning ‘American Idol’

“If you know me you know I’m addicted to fishin so this is exactly what I needed to keep me busy/ out of trouble when I’m not workin or touring,” the 24-year-old wrote on Instagram. “I’ve wanted a boat like this for years but never thought it would be possible. This is a huge accomplishment for me as a fisherman, and just as a man in general. I’ve waited a long time for this, and I’m so very grateful.”

During his time on American Idol, judge Luke Bryan invited Chayce on a fishing trip and he did go fishing with guest performer and former contestant Jimmie Allen. One photo on Chayce’s Instagram from the summer of 2020 shows him fishing with his sisters before finding fame. Chayce was all smiles in his Bass Pro Shop hat in a selfie posted after his boat purchase. He is “sun burnt as hell” but seems genuinely happy as he sat down to watch UFC 264.

“I’m losing my mind, it’s got everything I’ve ever wanted on it and I’m just like feeling like a little kid right now,” Chayce posted on his Instagram story about his boat. “I’m super ecstatic and thanks to [inaudible], [inaudible] you know who you are, love you, wouldn’t of been able to get this boat without you. Yeah, God is good, life is good.”

Chayce and His Fellow ‘Idol’ Runner-Up Are Keeping Busy After the Show

Though it looks like Chayce has big plans for his downtime, he has also been busy in the studio working on his album with Ross Copperman and Ilsey Juber. He recently announced that he would be touring with Three Doors Down this September. He also performed at the Whiskey Jam at Winners Bar in Nashville.

Chayce, like many of his fellow American Idol contestants, made the move to Nashville. He announced that he has been working on his songwriting. He penned his hit song “23” during the competition and we can’t wait to hear more from him. An album is expected to be released within the next year, following the trend of successful American Idol winners.

Meanwhile, runner-up Willie Spence has stayed booked and busy this summer with gigs. He will be playing a show at Atlanta Symphony Hall on August 14. Tickets are now on sale. He made the announcement to his 493,000 Instagram followers in late June. Willie previously performed for Ron Clark Academy and the organization Saving Our Daughters in Atlanta. He also joined fellow contestant Alyssa Wray to perform at a charity concert in Douglas, his hometown.
