American Idol Season 19 runner-up Willie Spence took to Instagram this week to share part of an original song with fans. The 22-year-old singer performed a snippet for his followers in a new video.
Spence finished the most recent season of Idol in second place after winner Chayce Beckham. During the competition, he showed off a powerhouse voice that moved the judges.
Willie Spence Teases Original Song ‘Pressure’
“It’s gonna always be ‘Pressure’, but I’m gonna always be ready for it,” Spence wrote on Instagram to accompany a black and white clip of himself singing. “Here’s a lil snippet of a song I wrote.”
Spence performed the song, titled “Pressure,” with a backing track. The track includes uplifting lyrics about overcoming challenges that starts with, “So glad I made it / Now I am free / When it felt like I couldn’t take it / I thought about my family.”
Fans in the comments were loving what they heard of the track. There were plenty of fire emojis and a few hearts, and one commenter called Spence’s voice “magic.” It sounds like fans are ready for Spence to start releasing music as soon as possible.
Earlier this year, Spence released an original song for American Idol called “Never Be Alone.” He also released an EP called The Voice, which features the single “So Gone” and five other songs.
We’re not sure if Spence plans to officially release “Pressure,” or if he’s just giving fans a glimpse into his songwriting process, but we can’t wait to hear what else he has up his sleeve. Spence wrote on Instagram in May that he’s “ready to make some dope music for you guys.”
