‘American Idol’ Runner-Up HunterGirl Releases New Song ‘Lonely Outta You’

American Idol Season 20 runner-up HunterGirl has finally released her new single “Lonely Outta You.” The singer has been teasing the track for quite some time, and it’s now available to hear in full. It’s a sweet song about loving someone with a broken heart.
HunterGirl Releases New Song ‘Lonely Outta You’
“Lonely Outta You” is a follow-up to HunterGirl’s previous single, “Hometown Out of Me,” which she released last year. The singer has been teasing the new song since February, and she finally released it on Friday.
“I wanna love the lonely outta you / Do whatever whoever didn’t do,” HunterGirl sings on the song’s chorus, showing off the great country voice that took her to the Idol finale. “Pick up the pieces that they broke / Hold you like I won’t let go / If you want me to / Oh, I wanna love the lonely outta you.”
The track flips the script on typical love songs from a man’s perspective about helping a woman heal from a broken heart. Instead, HunterGirl shares a similar sentiment from a woman to a man.
“There are a lot of songs about guys telling girls, ‘Hey, you’re lonely, let me make you less lonely,’ and when I was thinking about that, there aren’t really songs from a girl’s perspective on this that makes the same connection,” HunterGirl said in a statement. “Everybody gets lonely sometimes. I wanted to give another perspective and tell the other side of the story.”

The Singer Is Currently on Tour
HunterGirl recently announced that she’s going on a tour of the United States. She kicked things off earlier this month when she opened for Lainey Wilson in Nashville. This weekend, she’s scheduled to perform in Tallahassee.
The singer has several more shows lined up through August of this year, in states such as Virginia, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. That includes one show headlined by American Idol judge Luke Bryan. You can see all the upcoming dates and buy tickets here.
HunterGirl has done plenty of performing since Idol Season 20 finished up last year. That includes going on tour with the season’s winner, Noah Thompson.
