‘American Idol’ Announces It Will Be Back For A Second Season

Though we had our doubts there for a moment, American Idol just announced on instagram that they will indeed be coming back for a second season. We were a little worried that it wouldn’t happen because Idol had suffered in the ratings, (especially against The Voice).
It’s true that Idol has been doing better in the ratings the last couple of weeks and now they are only broadcasting on Sunday where they don’t have to worry about The Voice on Mondays. What we don’t know yet is when the show will be returning. The question I was most interested in is if they will bring back Katy Perry. She costs the show 25 million per season. Is it worth it if they only get OK ratings from it?
Well, the answer is that she will be back along with Luke and Lionel. So, ABC must think she’s worth it. You have to admit that Katy is one of the main reasons that people watch the show and she’s brought a lot of press interest as well. It wouldn’t even be too much a stretch to say that Idol has succeeded BECAUSE of Katy Perry. I get why she’s coming back. You listen to some talented singers, hang out with Luke and Lionel, and get paid 25 million? Why wouldn’t you do that?
