AGT Postpones Season 20 Auditions Due to Wildfires

AGT previously had in-person auditions for Season 20 scheduled for Sunday, January 12, in Pasadena, California. However, on Wednesday, the AGT Auditions Instagram account posted a notice that the auditions were being postponed.

“Due to the ongoing fires in the greater Los Angeles area, we regret to inform you that this weekend’s America’s Got Talent auditions in Pasadena have been postponed,” the message reads. “The safety of our hopeful contestants, staff and local community is our top priority.”

The statement goes on to say that the auditions will be rescheduled, with a new date being announced “as soon as it’s confirmed.” The account added, “We deeply appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing your incredible performance soon.” They encouraged everyone to “please stay safe.”

Hopefuls Can Still Audition Online

In-person auditions aren’t the only way hopeful contestants can try out for the next season of AGT. You can also apply online — either by submitting an audition video or signing up for a virtual audition. You can even nominate someone you know to be considered.

The official AGT audition website has links to the various methods of trying out for the show. As of this writing, a virtual open call is scheduled for January 24. Hopefuls can sign up to audition virtually for the show’s producers.

You can also upload a video of yourself displaying your talent, or submit someone else’s information for consideration. If you’d rather be an audience member at future tapings of the show, you can currently submit your information to receive notifications about free tickets when they become available.

A premiere date has yet to be announced for Season 20 of AGT, but the show usually kicks off in late May and runs into September.
