Former The Voice coach Adam Levine is returning to the show for the Season 23 finale, as he’ll be performing with his band Maroon 5. That also means Levine will be reuniting with Blake Shelton for the country star’s final episode of the show.
Adam Levine to Return for The Voice Season 23 Finale
According to Entertainment Tonight, Maroon 5 will be performing during the second night of the show’s two-part finale, airing May 23 on NBC. The band will perform their upcoming new single “Middle Ground,” which is out May 19.
Notably, this will mark coach Blake Shelton’s final episode of The Voice, as he announced last year that he’s leaving the show after this season. Levine was formerly a coach on the show for 16 seasons, and fans couldn’t get enough of his and Shelton’s banter.
Levine left the show in 2019, after taking part in Season 16. ET reports that when Shelton announced his own departure as a coach several seasons later, Levine joked, “It’s about time!”

Shelton Took a Dig at Levine Earlier This Season
Levine may have been absent from The Voice for a few years now, but Shelton still couldn’t resist taking a dig at his friend during the current season. The comment happened after Team Blake member Alex Whalen left the competition, and Neil Salsich performed his Battle solo.
“I told Neil before he came out here, I said, ‘Man, if you lose this Battle, it will be the worst fail in history,'” Shelton said after the singer’s performance. “I mean, this would be some Adam Levine level failure.”
After Neil left the stage, Shelton pointed to fellow coach Kelly Clarkson and said, “That’s the chair he used to sit in.” Clarkson responded, “The only reason I’m in this chair is to separate us.”
