The Voice Season 30 returned on Monday night for the final episode of the Battles. Queen Latifah was the last coach with a steal to use this season, and she finally picked an artist to claim for her team.Latifah chose to steal one of Adam Levine’s artists at the end of the night.
Queen Latifah Uses The Voice Steal as Battles End
In the final Battle of the night, Adam Levine paired up his artists Dakota Cohen and Destinee Monroe to sing “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence. The two singers blew the roof off the place, as coach Riley Green called it “one of the most powerful performances we’ve seen.”
Levine compared Dakota to former The Voice coach Miley Cyrus, while saying Destinee has a “super power voice.” He could only choose one artist to remain on his team going into Cut Week, deciding to name Dakota as the Battle winner.
But it wasn’t the end of the road for Destinee, as Queen Latifah pressed her steal button to get the singer on her team. So far this season, the other three coaches chose to steal artists from Team Queen, so it was about time we got to see which artist Latifah herself chose to steal.
Another Battle on Team Adam from Monday night’s episode of The Voice featured Lexi Stephens and Marilyn Hucek on a cover of “All I Wanted” by Paramore. Latifah said they were “so locked in” during the performance. Levine chose Lexi as the Battle winner, meaning Marilyn was unfortunately eliminated.
Kelly Clarkson Keeps Another Young Singer on Her Team
Last week, The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson chose to keep 13-year-old Brianna Cameron on her team after she performed in a Battle against teammate Saade. During Monday’s show, the coach chose another talented young singer as a Battle winner.
Clarkson paired up 14-year-old Brooklyn Marie against 17-year-old Kavi Nyx in a Battle to “Titanium” by Sia and David Guetta. The coach called the two singers the “most unique” artists on her team. She complimented the “richness” in Kavi’s voice while calling Brooklyn “angelic.” Ultimately, Clarkson chose to Brooklyn as the Battle winner, sending Kavi home.
Another young singer, 16-year-old Mia Knight, also won her Battle on Monday night. She was paired with fellow Team Queen member Sophia Liano on a cover of “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman. The duet stunned Kelly Clarkson, who stood up from her chair before it was over. Latifah even said she cracked her ring when reacting to the performance. She chose Mia as the Battle winner.
Monday’s show also featured a Battle on coach Riley Green’s team between Cade Mower and Brayden Howell to “Wondering Why” by The Red Clay Strays. Green chose Cade as the winner. Clarkson said she would have stolen Brayden if she had been able to.
Next week’s episode will mark the first-ever Cut Week, which will feature the biggest elimination in the show’s history. Do you agree with the coaches’ decisions for which artists to keep on their teams in the Battles? Let us know in the comments below, and tune in next Monday night for a new episode of The Voice Season 30.
