Lauren Silverman recently posted on Instagram about her relationship with fiancé Simon Cowell. After nearly 15 years together, Silverman shared what she’s learned. She included several sweet photos of her and Cowell together.

“I certainly haven’t got it all figured out, but I think learning as you go is half the fun!” Lauren Silverman wrote in the caption of her recent Instagram post, in which she shared in a series of slides what she’s learned from her relationship with Simon Cowell.
She emphasized that “you have to actually like each other” and “make each other laugh.” This piece of advice was accompanied by a photo of her and Cowell wearing facial masks. Silverman also emphasized that “you don’t always have to be the strong one,” adding, “Sometimes one of you needs to take the lead. Sometimes one of you needs to be held up.”
Silverman went on to write that a relationship is “not always 50/50.” She shared that “the important thing is knowing when the other person needs you to carry a little more.” She also encouraged couples to “give each other the grace to grow.”
Another piece of advice from Silverman’s post is not to “forget the little things,” such as “everyday conversations” and “making time for each other.”

Silverman’s post about her relationship with Cowell received plenty of positive comments, including one which read, “Don’t think Simon ever looked truly happy till he met you and had his son.” The couple welcomed son Eric in 2014.
Silverman responded to the comment, writing, “I’m sure he was happy but it’s a different kind of happiness and commitment now. And I love the idea that he’s happier now having me and Eric in his life.”
Another commenter wrote that they’ve been a fan of Cowell for years, adding, “It’s obvious he’s found a very special woman to provide him what he’s needed.” Silverman thanked them for their “lovely words.”
