Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban both sat on the American Idol judging panel for several seasons, three of which were together. They were co-stars on the talent show for Seasons 13 to 15, starting in 2014. Now romance rumors are swirling about the two singers.
A source recently told Radar Online that Lopez and Urban have been “in touch a lot” since their divorces, even meeting “in secret.” Lopez and her fourth husband, Ben Affleck, split in 2024, while Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman announced their separation in 2025.
“It says a lot that they’ve confided in one another because they’re so private and guarded around other people,” the source shared. “They seem to trust each other and feel comfortable opening up about their private situations and even their insecurities.”
According to the source, the pair’s connection dates back to their time on American Idol, although they apparently “never acted on anything” then since they were both in relationships at the time. The source called music their “shared language,” which Lopez apparently “really missed when she was with Ben.”
Another recent report claims that Jennifer Lopez might be interested in trying out a country sound in her music, with Keith Urban’s help. As a source told The Daily Mail, Lopez “is looking to record some country songs and wanted to see how that would look, and she has been chatting with Keith to see if they would be able to work together on a few songs.”
However, this collaboration might not go any further than music, as the source added that Urban “isn’t her type.” They shared that the two are “great friends,” but emphasized, “They will be together work-wise only.”
