Richard Goodall on 'America's Got Talent' 2024

America’s Got Talent Season 19 winner Richard Goodall’s life story is reportedly being turned into a movie. The school janitor wowed the show’s judges and viewers with his incredible voice back in 2024.

AGT Winner Richard Goodall Inspires New Movie

Earlier this week, Deadline reported on a deal with Everard Entertainment and Mad Chance to turn AGT Season 19 winner Richard Goodall’s inspiring life story into a feature film, produced by Ben Everard and Andrew Lazar.

“Richard Goodall’s unbelievable journey from sweeping hallways to the center of television’s biggest stage is the epitome of the American dream,” Everard said in a statement. “Like the millions worldwide, I was captivated the moment he stepped foot on that audition stage. Bringing his journey to the silver screen is an honor we take seriously.”

Lazar said that the film, which is being written by Chris Parizo, “will resonate with audiences around the world.” Deadline points out that this isn’t the first time a talent show winner has inspired a film. BGT winner Paul Potts was the subject of the 2013 film One Chance, starring James Corden.

Goodall auditioned for Season 19 of AGT in 2024, telling the judges he worked as a school janitor. His cover of “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey blew the judges away and earned a Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum. He went on to win the $1 million grand prize.
