America’s Got Talent Season 21 winner Nene Royal already has a huge gig lined up, as the 16-year-old guitarist set to open for heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold at an upcoming show on their concert tour.
AGT Winner Nene Royal to Open for Avenged Sevenfold
Just one day after Nene Royal was crowned the winner of AGT Season 21 last week, it was announced that she’ll be the opening act for Avenged Sevenfold when they take the stage in Singapore next month. The heavy metal band is currently on an international tour.
“The stage is about to get LOUDER as we welcome a very special guest…” reads an Instagram post from the band’s promoter. “Fresh off America’s Got Talent Season 21, NENE ROYAL is taking that winning energy to Singapore as she gets ready to open for AVENGED SEVENFOLD!”
The concert will take place at Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 13. Nene is a fan of Avenged Sevenfold, having covered recently covered their song “Hail to the King” in a live performance.

Nene’s Talent Earned America’s Vote
Nene Royal, who is from Thailand, auditioned for Season 21 of AGT with a cover of “Zombie” by The Cranberries, showing off an incredible talent on the guitar. She was later chosen to compete in the Judges’ Callbacks in a group put together by Howie Mandel, who sent her through to the live Quarterfinals.
During this live round, judge Mel B pressed her Golden Buzzer to send Nene straight into the Finals after hearing her cover “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden. She returned in the finale to perform “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.
