Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green on 'The Voice' 2026

The Voice Season 30 returned on Monday night for the first full episode of Battles, as the coaches narrowed down their teams. There was only one steal during the show, as Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green fought over one of Queen Latifah’s artists.

Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green Fight to Steal Singer on The Voice

Throughout all of Monday night’s episode, The Voice coaches held off on stealing various eliminated artists during the Battles. However, after the last performance of the night, both Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green finally hit their buttons.

It began with a Battle on Queen Latifah’s team between Kayleigh Mathews and Lillie Kolich. Battle Advisor Patti LaBelle helped them prepare for their performance, which was a duet of “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town. After their Battle, Latifah said she felt “honored to have been here to witness that.”

It was a tough decision, but the coach ultimately chose Lillie as the winner of the Battle, meaning she’ll stay on Team Queen going into Cut Week. However, before Kayleigh could leave, Kelly Clarkson pressed her button to steal her.

Just as it seemed that Kayleigh would automatically join Team Kelly for the next round, fellow coach Riley Green also pressed his button to steal her. That meant that Kayleigh had the opportunity to choose which coach’s team she wanted to join. Unfortunately, the episode ended on a cliffhanger, and we won’t find out which coach she chose until Tuesday’s new episode.

Another Battle on Latifah’s team during Monday’s show was between Morgan Lett and Alt Bloom. They sang “Ex-Factor” by Lauryn Hill. Clarkson was so amazed, she stood up and asked Latifah, “Who are you gonna pick?” The answer was Alt Bloom, meaning Morgan was unfortunately eliminated.

Two Battle Opponents Started Dating

A notable Battle from Monday’s new episode of The Voice Season 30 came from Team Riley’s Caroline Alexis and Everett Bounds. As they shared before their performance, Everett sent Caroline flowers and asked her out, and the two had been on a couple of dates before their Battle.

The pair performed “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, with a little help from Battle Advisor Carly Pearce to prepare. Green said they “turned the place into a honky-tonky.” He chose Everett as the Battle winner, meaning Caroline was unfortunately eliminated.

Another Battle on Team Riley during Monday’s show was between Joe Henley and Kenna Elpers. They sang Green’s own song “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Afterward, Green said he was “kicking myself for making this pairing.” However, he ultimately chose Joe as the winner, meaning Kenna was eliminated.

Monday’s episode of The Voice also featured one Battle each on Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson’s teams. On Team Adam, Cal Cook and Connor Closs sang “Homewrecker” by Sombr. Levine chose Connor as the winner. On Team Kelly, Koumba Diallo and Lance Tenazas sang “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish. Clarkson chose Koumba as the winner.
