See Ross Mathews as Dolly Parton for His First Ever in Drag
Reading Time: 3 minutes
For the first time ever, television host Ross Mathews transformed himself into a drag version of country music legend Dolly Parton. Mathews revealed his costume choice during the Halloween special of The Drew Barrymore Show.
Ross Mathews Dresses in Drag for the First Time
All glammed up for the occasion, the television personality quickly realized that it wasn’t easy to be Dolly Parton. This rings true from preparation to his official appearance on the talk show. In a video uploaded by the show, Mathews took fans to the process of his transformation.
“Even though I’m a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, this is the first time I’m ever getting in drag. You’re gonna come behind the scenes with me,” he said.
When asked what he thinks RuPaul Charles would say to him. He answered, “Don’t f**k it up.” Furthermore, in the clip, Mathews was shown calling “somebody qualified for a little advice,” Drag Race Season 11 Miss Congeniality Nina West.
“First of all, for your first time in drag, I think you’ve picked the very perfect person,” West said. “Because Dolly Parton, as we know, she’s the queen of kindness, she exudes heart, she exudes soul. You know, she’s given us all hope. That’s who Ross is.”
After all the glamming up was complete, Mathews showed himself up on the show in all his bedazzled glory, wearing a silver sequin jumpsuit with matching sparkling boots adorned with fringe. The television personality even joined the cooking segment of the show to make her famous chili cheese nachos.
Hilariously, things went out of control when Mathews bright red fake fingernail melted into the chili. Throughout the segment, Matthews suffered a total of three wardrobe malfunctions.
Drew Barrymore Turns Into Painter-Instructor Bob Ross
For her own costume, Barrymore decided to go extremely wholesome. The talk show host transformed into the painter and art instructor Bob Ross.
Copying his signature afro and beard, the actress went all out by putting a little hair on her chest as well. Furthermore, she slipped on Ross’ classic blue button-downs, opened to show off the fake curls. For her bottoms, she wore a pair of brown pants.
With Barrymore being the Joy of Painting star and Mathews being the female country singer, guest Ree Drummond joined the fun dressing as none other then Barrymore herself.
Upon her entrance to the stage, audiences members were shocked to see her uncanny resemblance to the “Way Back Into Love” singer. Drummond was wearing one of Barrymore’s favorite ’70s-inspired brown suits, patterned shirts, silk ties and oversized flower pins. She also covered her auburn hair with a wig to copy Barrymore’s hair color.
The Food Network star took Drummond through a cooking demo from her newest cookbook, Dinner’s Ready.
Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great. I do not know who you are but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!
I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
