Tori Kelly Releases Handwritten Statement Regarding Health, EP Release

The Masked Singer and American Idol alum Tori Kelly is now fortunately on the mend after a “really serious” hospitalization. On Tuesday, July 25, news broke that the “Paper Hearts” singer collapsed due to severe blood clots.
Tori Kelly Writes Heartfelt-Handwritten Note to Fans
On Thursday, July 27, Kelly published a handwritten note for fans on Instagram. Within the note, she details her health, as well as her EP release.
“hi friends… as you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges. It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers and can’t stop thinking about you,” she wrote. “I’m feeling stronger now and hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover. I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who have been looking after me.”
Then, she went on to talk about her upcoming EP release. Luckily for fans, it will still release along it’s original schedule.
“Of course I’m heartbroken about all the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EO but I know my heath must come first. Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years,” she wrote. “I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday.”
She finished out the statement thanking fans for their love during this hard time.
“I love you all so much and I am truly overwhelmed by all of the love and care I have received,” she wrote. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Tori Kelly’s Husband Detailed That She’s On the Road to Recovery Yesterday
Tori Kelly’s husband, Andre Murillo updated fans on his wife’s conditions via Instagram Stories on Wednesday. According to the former basketball player, the singer is already in the state of consciousness and is on the road to recovery.
“Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger. Not fully out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers,” he wrote. “Your love and kindness has been overwhelming. Thank you so much!”
Kelly was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after passing out while having dinner with friends at a Los Angeles restaurant; TMZ reported. Doctors later found blood clots both in her legs and lungs. Furthermore, the outlet stated that Kelly’s medical team was trying to determine if there were clots around her heart.
Aside from the short update, Murillo didn’t clarify what exactly Kelly’s illness is. He also failed to mention if the singer has been discharged from the hospital at this time.
Her Self-Titled EP Will Still Be Released This Week
Although Kelly is on the road to recovery, it hasn’t been revealed yet if her EP will still be released this week. Originally, her new EP, Tori is set to release on Friday, July 28.
Earlier this year, Kelly started teasing her new era in music. Tori is a seven-track music collection intending to capture early 2000s R&B and pop.
Last spring, she released one of the songs in the collection titled “missin u.” According to Kelly, this track serves as the “first taste of much more to come.”
