‘American Idol’ Runner-Up Lauren Alaina Announces New EP ‘Unlocked’

American Idol Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina made a big announcement on Thursday, as she revealed that she’s releasing a new EP titled Unlocked. She teased that two of the songs will be available for fans to hear very soon.
Lauren Alaina Announces New EP Titled ‘Unlocked’
On Thursday, Alaina took to Instagram to share an announcement video for her new project. In the clip’s voiceover, Alaina tells fans, “I want you to know me.” The video features shots of Alaina in the studio and hanging out with family.
“The truth is, it took me a long time to get to know me, too,” Alaina says. “Let’s start where we always have before. My name is Lauren, and my new EP, Unlocked, comes out next week.”
Unlocked will be released next Friday, June 9. However, fans will be able to hear two new songs from the project on Thursday night. This is Alaina’s first new music release since she signed with Big Loud Records last year.
According to American Songwriter, Alaina’s new EP will feature six new songs, including a collaboration with fellow country star Lainey Wilson on a song called “Thicc as Thieves.” Co-writers on the EP include Luke Bryan and Cole Swindell.
The rest of the tracklist includes songs “A Walk in the Bar,” “Hangovers,” “Don’t Judge a Woman,” “Smaller the Town,” and “Like Her.”

The Singer Is Currently Planning Her Wedding
In November of last year, Alaina announced that she was engaged during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry. She and her fiancé Cameron Arnold are currently planning their wedding. Alaina talked in a recent interview about Arnold’s desire for a Budweiser-themed cake.
Alaina is also scheduled to perform at the CMA Fest in Nashville next week. She’ll be hosting a Fan Club Party at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, June 9 — the same day her EP is released.
