Former The Voice coach Shakira isn’t done shading her ex Gerard Piqué following their split last year. While accepting the Woman of the Year award at Billboard‘s Latin Women in Music gala, the singer once again appeared to reference Piqué’s cheating scandal.

Shakira Shades Gerard Piqué in Acceptance Speech

“It’s been a year where I’ve realized we women are stronger than we think, braver than we believed, more independent than we were taught to be,” Shakira said in her speech. “Because what woman hasn’t at some time in her life forgotten herself because she’s seeking the attention and love of someone else?”

The singer continued, “It happened to me, more than once. But there comes a time in the life of every woman where she no longer depends on someone else to love and accept herself just as she is.”

She added that this was a time “where finding someone who is faithful is less important than being faithful to ourselves.” The singer told the crowd that “when I felt most lost, music put me in the road back to myself.”

Shakira also took a moment to shout out her mother, Nidya Ripoll, saying, You, mami, have been my woman of the year.” She went on to mention her friends who have supported her, as well as “all those single moms who defend and protect their children like lionesses.”

The Couple Split Up Last Year After 11 Years

Shakira and Piqué, a former soccer player, split last year after 11 years together, amid rumors he cheated. The pair shares two sons together, Sasha and Milan. Since the breakup, Shakira has expressed her feelings through music.

The singer has seemed to refer to Piqué’s new relationship with Clara Chia Marti. In her collaboration with Argentine DJ Bizarrap, “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” she sings, “I’m too good for you and that’s why you’re with someone just like you.”

Earlier this year, Piqué responded to Shakira’s comments, saying, “The subject of throwing beef is all very well, it’s fashionable, but we don’t think about the consequences it can have on a mental level for the person they throw it at.”
