‘The Voice’ Winner Brynn Cartelli Performs New Single on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’

The Voice Season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show this week to perform her new single “Secondhand Smoke” and chat with her former coach about the song’s meaning. Cartelli became the show’s youngest winner in 2018 at the age of 15.
Brynn Cartelli Performs New Single ‘Secondhand Smoke’
“It’s kind of about letting go of the things from my hometown and looking forward to this future,” Cartelli, now 19, said of her new single, “and kind of deciding what I want to bring forward with me, and what I do not. What isn’t working anymore.”
Cartelli sat down at the piano to perform the new song, showing off the incredible voice that won The Voice for Team Kelly. As she sings on the emotional track, “I have to let you go / Breathe out the secondhand smoke / I cannot let it show / I’m afraid that you’ve ruined my lungs.”
The singer released the new song earlier this week. It’s one of several singles Cartelli has released since last year. The other titles include “Gemini,” “Convertible in the Rain,” and “Girl Code.”

What Has Cartelli Been Up to Since the Show?
Cartelli won The Voice Season 14 on Team Kelly. This marked Clarkson’s first win as a coach during her very first season on the show. Clarkson would go on to win three more times with Chevel Shepherd in Season 15, Jake Hoot in Season 17, and Girl Named Tom in Season 21.
After the show, Cartelli released a single called “Last Night’s Mascara” in 2018. She also opened for Clarkson on the singer’s Meaning of Life Tour in 2019. In 2021, Cartelli put out an EP called Based on a True Story.
Cartelli also appeared on Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues Tour in 2019, as well as OneRepublic’s Never Ending Summer Tour in 2022. She was also a special guest on Jake Scott’s Lavender Tour last year. You can follow Cartelli on Instagram to keep up with her music career.
