Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey is set to shock the world on Sunday night when it airs on CBS. After months of controversy and now more recent bullying accusations made against Markle, here are five reasons why Brits hate Meghan Markle.
5. Meghan’s Previous Husband
There are several factors as to why Meghan has been an easy target for scrutiny. One reason is the unknown history behind Meghan’s sudden divorce from her former husband, Trevor Engelson.

The split came ‘totally out of the blue’ according to Andrew Morton’s biography of Meghan, ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’. In turn, this led many at the start of Meghan’s introduction to the Royal Family to be suspicious of her true affection for Harry or instead, her supposed desire for fame.
4. Thomas Markle And The Bad Blood In The Family
Interestingly, the topic of Thomas Markle is complicated and has brought about a lot of controversies. Ever since Meghan introduced herself as a royal, her father has been a close aid for the media in perpetuating stories on Markle and her relationship with Harry, even after Meghan asked him not to. Meghan’s father claims she won’t speak to him and he can’t get in touch.
Worse still, it seems Meghan wasn’t on good terms with her father on the weeks leading up to the wedding, creating a media storm of headlines that successfully managed to turn the couple’s royal wedding into a knockoff MTV-style reality show. The only problem is, there still isn’t much of a happy ending.
3. Prince Harry & Markle’s Mixed Messaging
Whilst Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were fulltime active members of the Royal Family, it seems they used the luxury of the monarchy’s extensive budget to their advantage. The two were often snapped boarding private jets, especially during the summer seasons, whilst also outspokenly campaigning for climate change reform.
Unfortunately for the couple, their use of private planes for unnecessary vacations lead to mass scrutiny over the couple’s hypocrisy.
According to the Evening Standard, a UK private jet “contributes 1 million tonnes of CO2 to the atmosphere per year – the same amount that 450,000 cars create in the same timeframe.”
2. Harry And Meghan Sueing British Newspaper
Harry and Meghan have taken legal action against the press in the last few years. In 2019, legal action taken was in relation to a private letter published in The Mail on Sunday. The main claim was that the newspaper had misled readers, with Harry calling certain stories surrounding the couple as ‘relentless propaganda’.
The backlash from the public has largely centered around the couple’s craving for privacy, despite often making grand online appearances and even hiring photographers on special occasions. It seems many believe that Meghan and Harry are after good press and nothing else. But we’ll let you be the judge of that.

If there was ever a clearer reason as to why Meghan Markle is often disliked by Brits, it’s this. She stepped down from her royal duties alongside Prince Harry for what seems to be a more relaxed life in sunny Los Angeles.

Many believe that Meghan was unaware of the role she had taken in the Royal Family, oblivious of the expectation to perform such a role for life. Whilst it’s possible that Markle’s celebrity intentions may have gotten the best of her, and convinced Harry to also step down, they now have the opportunity to tell their story for the world. All of the ‘Royals’ in Europe…as well as elsewhere in the world…are nothing more than leeches of the people. Royal society is a non-modern, patriarchal, extremely racist and bigot society. They expect women that marry into the Royal Family to be virgins, non-talkers, non-opinion-givers, have no real occupations nor a voice in general. So there it is, summed up all the reasons brits hate her. Meghan Markle is exactly the opposite of that.
1. She doesn’t owe anyone, especially the public an explanation for her divorce! 2. Just because he’s her Dad does not mean she is obligated to have a relationship with him, We as the public don’t know the whole story nor do we need to. 3. I’m british and one thing that wasn’t mentioned is that the British monarchy normally only marries within the nobility. Old fashioned I know but there it is. I have nothing against meghan as a person but she has to understand that marrying into an ancient royal family there are things you must do, you can’t just do what you want. There are even laws to stop such things that could lead to huge scandals and even imprisonment. Megan Markle is after diamonds & fame & had clearly shown that she had no interests in working for the Queen & the British Royal family. Megan just wanted recognition & to bask in the limelight. Prince Harry was the ladder for Megan to get what she wanted.

The royal family should have been great full for the diversity Megan brought. By shunning Megan, the Royals shunned the world except for those Moron Brits.
