‘X Factor’ Star Cher Lloyd Throws Shade At Ex-Boss Simon Cowell

Former X Factor star Cher Lloyd recently took to Instagram to throw some subtle shade at music mogul Simon Cowell. Cher left Simon’s record label several years ago.
The 27-year-old singer came in fourth place in the seventh season of the show in 2010, and has since released two albums. Read on to find out what she recently had to say about Simon.

Last Thursday, Cher took to Instagram Stories to post a clip from Kelly Peakman’s 2007 audition on The X Factor UK. Kelly famously clashed with Simon after he criticized her performance of “I Will Always Love You.”

Kelly returned to the audition room with her father to confront Simon. At one point, her father asked Simon if he had a heart. He replied that he did, and that he also had a brain. “Where’s your brain, in your middle toe?” Kelly asked.
According to the Daily Mail, Cher posted this moment on Instagram, and added the text, “For real though …” It’s not hard to see why Cher chose to part ways with Simon’s record label if she thinks he’s brainless.
Why Did Cher Leave Simon’s Record Label?
Cher Lloyd reportedly didn’t feel comfortable giving up control over her career, and chose to leave Simon’s label Syco in 2011. She later told Larry King that Simon was a control freak and found her difficult to work with.

“I don’t really speak to him anymore. I left his label a year-and-a-half ago and I got my record deal here [in the U.S.],” Cher said, adding, “I have a specific thing I am reaching for, so I have my own idea of how I’m going to get it.”
It’s not the first time Cher has taken a swipe at an X Factor judge. She previously called out her mentor Cheryl for not singing live. Cheryl later called the comment “a slap in the face.” In 2018, Cher said she and Cheryl hadn’t talked “in a long time.”
Cher has a daughter named Delilah-Rae with her husband Craig Monk. She recently released the single “One Drink Away.”
