‘X Factor’ Judges Walk Out When Contestant Won’t Stop Singing [VIDEO]
Some contestants on talent shows like The X Factor UK just can’t take no for an answer. Such was the case with Shayden Willis, who was so persistent that three of the judges left the audition room before he did.
Shayden wouldn’t stop singing, even after the judges made it clear that they weren’t interested in putting him through. Check it out in the video below, and read on to find out how the judges reacted.
Shayden Willis Won’t Leave ‘X Factor’
For his audition, Shayden wheeled in a keyboard. He shared that he’s loved music since he was a kid, and said he was going to perform an original song for the judges. He said the song is about “a woman who uses a man,” sharing that it was inspired by personal experience.
Unfortunately, Shayden’s performance didn’t live up to the hype. Simon Cowell stopped him part of the way through the song, saying he “got the message” and calling it “quite sad.” Shayden told him there’s a “positive part,” so Simon asked to hear that.
Except that wasn’t very happy, either. Simon told him to stop, calling his songs “terrible.” But that didn’t stop Shayden, who continued to play the keyboard and sing. Cheryl was the first to get up and leave, saying she needed to use the bathroom.
Shayden continued to sing, even as Simon tried to get him to stop. That prompted Mel B to follow Cheryl out of the room. Louis Walsh followed soon after, leaving just Simon sitting at the judges’ desk.
Simon Is The Only One Watching Shayden’s Audition
The other judges were in the makeup chairs getting their hair touched up as Shayden continued to perform. “I just wanna be your lover, baby,” he sang, prompting Simon to ask, “Why are you singing me that song?”
“Shayden, we’ve got to end this now,” Simon said, adding that it would go on “for hours” if he didn’t stop. Shayden still didn’t give up, and Simon started to laugh at the ridiculous situation.
When Simon gave Shayden a definitive “no,” he got up and performed “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. Finally, he walked out of the room. Simon called it “the longest audition in the world.”
