Woman Celebrates The End of Lockdown On Edge Of Cliff Then The Unthinkable Happens…
Some people will do anything to get the perfect Instagram picture. With lockdowns ending in several countries all over the world, people are able to go out and celebrate. Olesia Suspitsina, a 31-year-old woman from Kazakstan decided that the cliffs at Duden Park in Anatyla would be the ultimate backdrop for her celebratory photo. But what happened next was truly devastating.
Olesia Suspitsina Went On A Hike With Her Friend That Turned Deadly
Suspitsina was hiking with her friend Larysa Kamalova after being in lockdown. She thought she had the perfect idea for a photo-op. The two decided to cross a security fence and walk onto a cliff to take the photo. The scenic waterfalls at Duden Park have always been a popular photo spot, but people are urged to stay behind the security fence as a measure of their own safety. As you could imagine, this turned out to be a big mistake. “We came to the park in the evening and we drank wine, then we were talking to a friend on video. When Olesia was talking on video, she asked me to take a picture of her,” said Kamalova to News 1 in Turkey. She admitted that the pair were drinking wine which may have played a factor in what happened next.
Kamalova was snapping a photo of Suspitsina when she slipped on the grassy area on the edge of the cliff. Suspitsina plummeted 35 meters or about 115 feet to her death. Kamalova was horrified when she called the police. Suspitsina’s body was found in the water underneath the waterfall. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Kamalova was charged with negligence after failing to adhere to the safety measures put in place in the park.
Suspitsina Had A Knack For Traveling And Taking Daring Photos
Suspitsina was a tour guide in Turkey so naturally, she has a love for traveling and exploring. By taking one look at her Facebook, you will see a multitude of photos from all over the world. In one daring photo, she is sitting on a rock above an ocean. This is definitely a daring pose to strike while you’re hundreds of feet in the air. Not everyone would be bold enough to attempt a picture like this.
In another photo, she stands on the edge of a cliff that is again high up in the air. Surrounding her is a bunch of rocks and cliffs. It seems like she had a knack for taking these daring photos on rock structures. Suspitsina’s Instagram featured several pictures of her on different trips to beaches, mountains and hikes. Her account has since been made private after news of her death made waves on social media. People from all over the world left Facebook comments about being saddened by her passing.
Kazakhstan Recently Lifted Lockdown Measures
Kazakhstan is allowing provinces to lift their lockdowns if coronavirus cases remain under 7% for a full week. This allowed all businesses to slowly begin reopening including salons, markets and retailers. They have also gradually begun to lift quarantine traveling restrictions by allowing passenger flights between the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan. They are however taking precautions and checking the temperatures of all passengers on these planes. One passenger shared a video on YouTube of a man in a hazmat suit taking passenger temperatures.
With many lockdowns being eased or lifted worldwide in Spain, Italy and France, more people are expecting to go out and occupy public spaces again. Just because some restrictions are diminishing does not mean that coronavirus is no longer a threat to people in these countries.
With that being said, please be careful and be aware of your surroundings. The Instagram photo might not be worth it and could end up being dangerous. Stay safe, and of course, practice social distancing.
