Fans of Miley Cyrus have been wondering if the pop star will be returning to NBC for her annual New Year’s Eve special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party this New Year’s Eve. The show aired for the first time in 2021 with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson as co-host. Cyrus hosted again in 2022, that time with godmother Dolly Parton by her side. Both specials were hits, so now fans are questioning if Cyrus will go for the three-peat this holiday season.
Will Miley Cyrus Do Her New Year’s Eve Party in 2023?
In the inaugural 2021 edition, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party featured show-stopping performances from artists like Saweetie, Brandi Carlile, Jack Harlow, 24kGoldn and more. The special was produced by SNL mastermind Lorne Michaels and delivered impressive ratings, drawing 6.3 million viewers and becoming the number one trending NYE program on Twitter.
Cyrus loved her New Year’s Eve production and praised Lorne Michaels for his talent in assembling shows on short notice. She believes people enjoy authentic and relatable entertainment, which is evident from the high ratings of her show.
So far, neither the “Wrecking Ball” singer nor NBC has confirmed if Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will be back for a third consecutive year in 2023. However, given the immense success of her past two holiday outings, hopes are high among devotees.
Last Year’s New Year’s Eve Party Was Also Successful
The 2022 show aired on NBC and was also simulcast live on Peacock, giving fans multiple ways to tune in. If it does air again next week, viewers can likely expect a similar broadcast arrangement across both NBC and streaming on Peacock.
As of now, fans will have to wait patiently for any official word from Cyrus or NBC as to whether Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will be back to help ring in 2023. The singer always finds exciting ways to celebrate the holiday, whether on her own show or making guest appearances on other programs.
Last New Year’s Eve, Cyrus treated fans to the surprise debut performance of a brand-new song during her Miami-based special. The track, titled “You” was released as part of her album, Endless Summer Vacation, earlier this year.
